Jonas Construction, Rolling Prairie, IN contacted us in mid December to give us a proposal for the labor to build our new, much needed updated 3 story stairwell.  This labor cost was a very fair and more than reasonable bid of $3850.  As we listened, Gene took out his pen drew a line through the price and wrote a ZERO next to it.  Overwhelmed and speechless, we simply said "Thank you".  Surely just as Gene stated he would, work began on March 19, 2013.  Gene and his crew,

"My Step-Father, MSGT. Michael Wood brought me from an orphanage in Wunderberg, Germany to AMERICA in 1973, and DEEPLY influenced my life.  He died too soon 3 days after his 38th Birthday, after 19 + years of Military service. I spent those last 3 days with him. He saved my LIFE! ONE VETERAN, and now ONE ADDICT, who has helped over ONE THOUSAND Female Addicts see themselves as a possibility for success and "from victim to VICTORY!"  Sonshine honors her Step-Father by being a member of The Wall Gang.  With 5 cognitive groups a week and building the recovery home,  life is getting too busy.  BE a part of this Journey!

La PORTE — They have ripped away all the walls, ceilings and insulation, gutted the basement, removed the old roof, and are now preparing to widen the stairwells and replace the flooring.  They are the 190 volunteers who are now onto their eighth Dumpster full of material

D. E. “Sonshine” Troche has been awarded the 2012 Ivy Tech Community College Personal Achievement Award.  Earlier this year, she received the 2012 Ivy Tech Distinguished Alumni Award of the North West Indiana Region and spoke at the 2012 graduation ceremony. 

An INTERVIEW WITH LA PORTE COUNTY CORONER JOHN SULLIVAN 

D. E. "Sonshine" Troche and Tanya Taschler, a former Intern for Worthy Recovery and student at PNC conducted an interview in March of 2012, with La Porte County Coroner John Sullivan. In this interview, Mr. Sullivan shared factual information of the tremendous and dangerous Heroin problem in La Porte County.
