Funding for MRT® Moral Reconation Therapy is provided by LaPorte County Drug Free Partnership and LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department.
These statistics are from the LaPorte County Jail Women’s group current to June 2011.
32 female participants of the projected 48, joined the MRT program to date. 30 females attended 2 or more groups.
17 of 31(55%) participants stated that they have an increase in resisting impulsive behavior and/or change it.
23 of 31(75%) stated that they can take responsibility for their behavior.
13 of 31(42%) stated that they will think before they react.
The averages of these 32 participants are as follows:
Age = 28.4 years;

Twenty-three(23) participants are 19-29 years old; 16 out of 23 have 36 kids or 2.3 each
Seven(7) participants are 30-38 years old and they have 17 kids or 2.4 each
Four(4) participants are 42-52 years old and they have 14 kids or 3.5 each.

Education
22 reported dropping out of high school. The education levels as reported below, indicate that many of them are under-educated and thus under skilled and a high probability of indigence exists among this population. Two(2) or 6% reported A.A. degrees.
Six(6) or 19% reported some College classes taken.
Two(2) or 6% reported graduating from High School.
Eight(8) or 25% reported earning a GED.
Fourteen(14) or 44% reported dropping out of High School.
Arrests
4 were arrested for Alcohol related charges
28 were arrested for drug related charges.
